GADGETBAR · ON-DEMAND DEVICE REPAIR
Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 6 October 2026.
These terms apply to repair bookings with GadgetBar (we, us, our), based at Robinsway, Walton-on-Thames. By making a booking, you agree to the version supplied when your booking is confirmed. These booking terms apply to repair services; separate terms apply to device and accessory purchases.
1. Warranty
Screen replacement warranty depends on the fitted part: Aftermarket OLED screens carry a 12-month warranty; Genuine and Refurbished screens carry a 3-month warranty. Other eligible repairs carry a 12-month warranty on fitted parts and workmanship. Cover starts on the repair completion date and applies to faults caused by a defective fitted part or our workmanship, subject to the exclusions in these terms. The selected screen option and warranty are recorded in your repair confirmation. Liquid-damaged devices are subject to the separate exclusions below. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
It does not cover subsequent accidental or liquid damage, faults caused by another person opening or repairing the device, or pre-existing faults unrelated to our work. The Device Testing provisions below apply to features we could not test. These exclusions do not remove our responsibility for damage we cause or affect your statutory rights. See our Warranty Policy.
2. No Fix No Fee
Our No Fix No Fee policy applies to common repairs such as screen, battery and camera replacements, unless we explain an exception and obtain your agreement before starting. If we cannot complete a successful repair, you will not be charged for that repair.
Complex faults, multiple faults, liquid damage or intermittent behaviour may require substantial diagnostic work. Where applicable, we will explain and agree the amount of any diagnostic and call-out fee before your appointment. Under this policy, the agreed diagnostic fee is payable if diagnostic work has been carried out and the device cannot be repaired; if the repair succeeds, you pay the agreed repair price instead. Liquid damage has the separate policy below. If you decline a proposed fee before committing to the work, we cancel without charge. Statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.
3. Cancellation, rescheduling and no-show
Payment when booking. You may pay a £20 deposit or the full agreed service price when booking. The deposit is credited towards the service price; any outstanding balance is payable on completion. Your booking confirmation records the amount paid and any remaining balance.
Cancelling or rescheduling. You may cancel or reschedule without charge by notifying us more than 60 minutes before the agreed appointment time. If you cancel within 60 minutes, we may retain an amount up to £20 from your deposit or advance payment to cover reasonable losses directly resulting from the cancellation, after taking reasonable steps to reduce those losses. We refund the balance of any payment, including the unused portion of a full service payment. We do not automatically retain £20 irrespective of our losses. Statutory cancellation rights take precedence.
One reschedule is permitted per booking. If further changes are needed, we may cancel the original booking and arrange a new booking. Any retention from the original payment is subject to the same reasonable-loss limits and £20 cap; a new booking does not automatically mean forfeiture of the original payment.
Late arrival and no-shows. We wait up to 15 minutes beyond the agreed time. If you remain unavailable, we may cancel the appointment and retain up to £20 to cover the reasonable losses described above. We will explain the amount retained and refund the remainder of your deposit or full advance payment.
If we need to reschedule. We will offer alternative appointment times. If none is suitable, we cancel and refund any deposit or full advance payment in full.
Your statutory cancellation right. Where the Consumer Contracts Regulations apply to a distance or off-premises booking, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. Tell us by email, phone or WhatsApp using the contact details below, clearly identifying your booking and your decision to cancel. You may use the cancellation form at the end of these terms, but do not have to.
Before starting work during that period, we will obtain your express request to start early and your acknowledgement that the cancellation right ends once the service is fully performed. Choosing an early appointment alone is not that consent. For an off-premises contract, the express request must be made on a durable medium. If you cancel after work starts at your express request, you may owe a proportionate amount for the service actually supplied, where the law permits. Once the service is fully performed, the cancellation right ends only if the legal requirements were met. The appointment cancellation policy does not override these statutory rights.
4. Fixed fee policy
The repair price agreed in your booking confirmation is the price you pay for the agreed work. The mobile call-out is included unless a separate charge has been clearly disclosed and agreed. There are no undisclosed extras.
If inspection reveals a different fault or additional work, the technician explains the options and revised total. We will not carry out or charge for additional work without your agreement. Any separately agreed diagnostic, liquid damage or wrong-device fee is subject to the relevant terms below and your legal rights.
5. Irreparable damage
If our repair attempt causes irreparable damage to your device, we will discuss an appropriate remedy with you, without limiting your statutory rights. This may include a fully functional refurbished replacement of equivalent or greater value, taking account of the model and condition of your device and the repair contracted for, or an appropriate financial payment based on an objectively supported fair market valuation.
We will explain the proposed remedy and valuation. If the repair has not been paid for, any proposal to account for the quoted repair cost must be agreed with you and must not reduce the remedy to which you are legally entitled. We cannot make our own valuation or preferred remedy binding where the law gives you another entitlement.
Where a replacement or agreed payment involves us taking ownership of the damaged device, we will agree the handover and data-handling arrangements with you. Your right to raise a complaint or pursue a legal remedy is unaffected.
6. Device testing
Before repair, we test accessible features and functions and record the device's observable condition. After repair, we test the relevant functions again. We will explain any tests we cannot complete, for example because the device is locked, does not power on, is not charged or has an existing fault.
Pre-existing faults unrelated to our repair are outside the repair warranty. Inability to test a feature before repair does not automatically exclude responsibility if our work causes a fault. We remain responsible for carrying out the service with reasonable care and skill.
7. Damaged display: glass or LCD/OLED
Where your model has different prices for glass-only damage and damage to the LCD/OLED display beneath it, the booked price is subject to inspection. If you booked glass-only work but the display panel is also damaged, the technician explains the revised repair and price and obtains your agreement before starting. We do not automatically charge the higher price without your consent.
8. True Tone functionality
True Tone availability after a screen replacement depends on your iPhone model, software and the replacement part. It may not work as it did with the original display. Where our equipment and the model support restoration, we will attempt to restore it. Tell us before confirming the repair if this feature is important to you, so we can explain the options and limitations.
9. Biometric sensors: Touch ID and Face ID
Touch ID and Face ID rely on sensitive, paired components. Damage or faults affecting these components can prevent biometric functions from working, and restoration may require a manufacturer repair. We will explain any identified model-specific or device-specific risk before relevant work and seek your agreement.
An existing biometric fault, or an unavoidable limitation clearly explained and agreed before repair, is outside the agreed repair scope unless expressly included. This does not exclude our responsibility for negligent damage, failure to use reasonable care and skill, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If biometric preservation is critical, ask us about manufacturer repair options before proceeding.
10. Liquid-damaged devices
No Fix No Fee does not apply to liquid-damaged devices. An inspection fee, with its amount stated in your quote, applies only after it has been disclosed and agreed and the inspection has been carried out, subject to statutory cancellation rights. If we successfully repair the device, we waive that fee and you pay only the agreed parts and labour charge.
Further corrosion or latent faults can develop after a liquid damage repair, so liquid-damaged devices are excluded from our voluntary repair warranty unless your confirmation expressly states otherwise. This does not affect your statutory rights or our responsibility for the service we provide.
11. Device not presented
Please check the make and model before booking and have that device available at the agreed time. If you cannot present the booked device, a wrong-device or futile visit fee, with its amount stated in your booking confirmation, may apply only if it was disclosed and agreed before booking and represents reasonable losses from the wasted visit. We will explain the charge. We will not recover the same loss twice through both this fee and a retained deposit, and statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.
12. Water resistance
Opening a device can reduce its original water and dust resistance. Unless we expressly confirm otherwise for the specific repair, we do not guarantee that the device retains its factory resistance rating after repair. Avoid exposing your repaired device to water or other liquids. This does not exclude responsibility for faulty workmanship or affect your legal rights.
13. Data loss and privacy
Back up your device before your appointment where possible. Repair and diagnostic work can involve a risk of data loss. We will explain where a reset or other data-affecting action is needed and seek your agreement before proceeding.
We access personal data only where necessary for agreed testing and repair. We do not exclude liability for loss caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. See our Privacy Policy.
14. Scope of the GadgetBar service
GadgetBar provides on-demand device repairs at an agreed location. Your repair contract is with GadgetBar. Technicians may be employees or independent contractors appointed by GadgetBar; we remain responsible to you for the contracted service and the parts supplied. We carry out repairs with reasonable care and skill.
GadgetBar is an independent repair business. We do not claim affiliation with, authorisation by or endorsement from Apple, Samsung or Google unless expressly stated for a particular service and supported by the relevant authorisation. Brand and product names belong to their respective owners.
15. Repair parts
Apple devices. Before you agree to the repair, your quote will identify the offered part type, whether it is genuine or aftermarket, and whether it is new or refurbished. We will only describe a part as genuine Apple where that description is accurate. Replacement displays may differ in brightness or colour from the original. Some devices can display a part-verification notice; we will explain any expected notice before you agree to the repair.
Other manufacturers. Your quote will identify the offered part type, including any genuine, aftermarket or refurbished status, before you agree to the repair. Parts we fit are covered by the 12-month repair warranty, subject to the exclusions in these terms.
Replaced parts. Tell the technician before work begins if you wish to keep removed parts. Otherwise, we will arrange appropriate recycling or disposal. Unsafe parts may require special handling, which we will explain.
16. Legal rights, complaints and governing law
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Services must be provided with reasonable care and skill, and supplied parts must meet applicable requirements for quality, fitness for purpose and description. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
For complaints, email info@gadgetbar.co.uk or call +44 7310 297329. You may also contact us on WhatsApp: +44 7761 803605. We will acknowledge your complaint and explain the next steps and expected response timeframe.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, mandatory protections applicable where you live remain unaffected, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Changes apply to future bookings; the version supplied when your contract was made applies to that booking.
